Structurally, the best room in my house is the pantry (sad, huh?). The favorite room in my house is the pantry.
Why?
Cuz my pantry is freaking BIG. I’m blessed. I know this. Many of you are faced with small food closets or no pantry at all (I used to live in one of those “no pantry houses” and I feel for you). The rest of my house is a storage nightmare (the shelves in my linen closet aren’t even wide enough to hold an expertly folded quilt – sigh), but my L-shaped, walk-in pantry, she’s a different story. Lot’s of shelves, wall and floor space and did I mention the built in cookbook shelving? It’s a dream…now turned nightmare.
Wasn’t kidding. This is just part of my pantry and it’s a wreck.
Now, a good old fashioned spring cleaning on my pantry would probably help a bunch – and that was my original plan, but then I thought, “If I’m going to drag ALL that crap out of the pantry, I might as well do it right.” So my quest for a $150 pantry makeover has begun. Why $150 pantry makeover budget? Easy. I don’t want to give my bank account a coronary.
So now I’m going to start on my quest to find the perfect containers, figure out what color I’m going to paint her, and look at pin after pin of pantry makeovers on Pinterest. I’m going to take notes and lots of photos. Let’s see what I can do with this space for $150! Who’s with me?
